Bought this last year for our kindergarten daughter and liked it so well we bought another for our PreK son this year. The size is perfect! Needed something that would fit folders, lunches, etc. but would not be too big for our 35lb peanut; this is it. His is black and the mongramming contrasts very nicely. Only minor downside is that hers is the lime flower patch print and the monogramming is very hard to see. Overall, very happy with them.
I bought my grandson the Junior Original Backpack and he has used it for four years. It looks like new when it is washed. Zippers slide easily. No rips nor tears in the fabric. It is roomy enough for all he needs to carry. I bought another one for my other grandson and plan on the same great durability.
I put this on my son's first Christmas list. We used it for a diaper bag, then a toy bag, and then a k4 back pack. My son is 5 so the back pack is almost 5 years old. There is nothing at all wrong with it. He's itching for a new one, but so sorry! We got one for our daughter's first Christmas also. She's just 2, but I'm expecting the same durability out of her pack. I wash them more than I should since I do haul sippy cups in them. They get a little nasty, but they clean up great. I make no effort to take care of them. They get tossed around and overstuffed, drug over the driveway and overwashed. They not only make great first back packs, but they are wonderful baby gifts.
