I bought this for my 5 year old entering Kindergarten last August. School is getting out in just 5 days and this back pack still looks brand new! I just ordered another one for my 4 year old going to preschool in the fall. These are great bags and just the right size for the younger kids!
We bought this bag three years ago for our (then) three year old and other than the fact it is not as clean as it used to be, it is still in fantastic condition (as is the matching lunch box). This bag goes to preschool everyday and on our many weekend and overseas trips. There are no tears in the fabric and the zippers still work wonderfully. The only reason we are replacing it is he is now turning six and wants a bigger bag with a different pattern for "real" school.
I bought one of these one sale to try out as a purse since I tend to carry a lot of stuff with me. It worked great. It held everything exactly how I needed it to and I never had any trouble! I gave it away about three months later because I figured it looked a little childish for me to carry it around, but I actually miss it. Everything seem to feel lighter when I carried them in here and I love how organized it kept everything.
I am very happy with this bookbag. It's just the right size for my daughter going into kindergarten and the great quality is as expected from LL Bean. One note, the pink color shown on the website is quite a different shade than the pink bookbag we received. It is more of a mauve pink instead of the light pink shown on the website. I actually like the darker pink, but beware if you were expecting a light pink.
