I'm not sure how some parents can say their kids' backpacks have lasted years as although our daughter's backpack stood the test of time for the entire school year while her peers' went through two, three and even four backpacks, we will be purchasing another new one for this upcoming year. I will buy this one again, however it didn't last to the point where we can use it a second year since the corners have worn just slightly through and it's looking somewhat ratty, but that's to be expected when kids throw them on the bus floor and the school playground I guess. Still happy with the product.
I bought this backpack last year for my daughter and it still looks new! It was the perfect size for my (tall) 4 year old preschooler. She could use it for kindergarten this year but with 6-8 months of winter she needs more room for snow pants, mitts, toques in addition to school books etc. It will still be a great backpack for daytrips.
We just received this backpack in the mail for our kindergartener. The backpack seem very well made and sturdy. Our son was super excited and it fit him perfectly. I am very disappointed however that the embroidery is off-center. Noticeably! We only used one letter and it still isn't centered. Not enough time before the school year to return it but very disappointed and would skip adding the personalization next time.
I bought each of my older daughters (now ages 15 and 12) this backpack when they went to preschool at age 3. They each used their pack until needing to upgrade due only to size. They still have their packs and use them on occasion for camping, etc. These have withstood the test of time, use/abuse over the years. They wash well and you would never guess by looking at them how old they are! I considered the original pack, but decided to go for a 3rd Jr. pack for my youngest daughter in the adorable spring fling print and expect it will last equally well. I love the size for these younger years of school, allowing plenty of room for their essentials (lunch, folder, water bottle, show and tell) while not being so huge they can be over-weighted with too much stuff! (Bums me out to see so many kiddos weighed down by too large/heavy packs!)
