I bought this backpack for my daughter when she started Kindergarten. She just finished 1st grade and this backpack is not giving out! Unbelievably durable, plenty big, and easy for little ones to carry. I just bought her another LL Bean backpack, only because I am anticipating the need for a bigger one for the rest of elementary school. I am confident we will have the new one for the next four years at least. I am still keeping this one for sleepovers, day trips to the zoo, etc. The three backpacks we have purchased from LL Bean in previous years are still going strong! The oldest one is going on its fourth year (junior year of high school). I cannot believe I used to purchase a new one every August for my girls. I will not buy backpacks anywhere else, not even for myself!
I purchased the Junior Book bag in lime green 5-6 years ago when my son was just 1 year old. I used it daily as his "diaper bag" and he has used it throughout all of preschool. It is still in excellent condition, as he enters Kindergarten this year. Great quality.
I have 3 sons ages 21, 14 & 9. I have been buying their school bags here since my 21 year old was in grade school. They have been used, reused, and used again by the 3rd kid and hold up unbelievably well. It's the only bag that is rugged enough to get thrown around and last a whole school year, sometimes two to three years.
