zipper broke today after mere 9 weeks of mild use!

This backpack is very cute and seemingly well made. The zipper, on the other hand, is lousy! Since we bought this bag it has been hard to zip without it snagging the material. If it's been hard for me, I can only imagine how hard or frustrating it has been for my little first grader!! The thing is, we hardly really even put anything in the pack, so it's not as if the thing has been overfilled or whatnot. Frustrating!
This morning, the zipper snagged so badly that upon efforts to loosen the thing, it BROKE! Not a good thing to happen on a school morning when we have no other backup bags for our son to use! I was so upset, so now we are returning it and I suppose we will hopefully just get the thing exchanged for another and hope for better luck on the next one. Ugh.
This backpack has become my go-to birthday gift for 2-3 year olds. It's the perfect little size for that age, but still gives them a few more years to grow with it too. The bag looks adorable with all monogram styles (I've ordered a few) but the athletic font has become a personal favorite.
I think this is a cute bag, especially w/ the monnogramming. The reflector strip was scratched upon arrival, then got worse from there. With the junior backpacks, I feel they should be able to withstand some falls. We are putting them on Preschoolers and Kindergarteners, they are not super responsible at that age. Kids get scuffs, but their bookbags shouldn't look so worn.
