I ordered this backpack for my 2 year old who is starting preschool. It's so perfect for him! And I know it will last him for the next few years. Love the quality and LOVE the free shipping!
I got this for my daughter when she started kindergarten. She is now almost 9 and in 3rd grade and still using it! My son also owns the same backpack and is in 2nd grade. I will just be ordering the next size up of this same backpack as it is by far one of the best products my kids have ever had. Only reason for ordering next size up is my third grader is now just running out of room with books.
I bought 2 a little over a year ago they are nice backpacks and now one has a worn spot in the bottom but it hasn't busted yet the other the actual zipper teeth a section came off when i went to zip it closed right at the top so the other zipper only zips it halfway my daughter really wants another so in time i will by another maybe a larger one and hopefully she will more years out of it i am not a person with access to much money and i have to say l.l. bean has helped me so much i can buy good quality items it may take me sometime to buy what i want but saves me in the end
My child keeps being asked "Did you get a new backpack for school this year?" and I hope she doesn't catch on that some kids get a new one every year. Hers is on it's 4th year of school plus countless overnight trips and looks new! It's the light pink color which I had expected to show a ton of dirt but it hasn't. I love being able to put her initials on it to make it stand out, without having her name on display. The junior size fits a regular-sized folder/notebook (important for younger grades) plus lunchbox and water bottle and in fact we can pack a weekend's worth of child's clothes in it for trips. Along those lines, it's a little big for a preschooler so you might keep that in mind for a smaller child. Seems best to me for ages 4 through 7 or so.
