I bought one of these for each of my sons for preschool. This backpack was the perfect size for preschool, but it only lasted two years. It was only used for preschool a few mornings a week and wasn't used to carry heavy objects. The seam has fallen apart on both. If it had been one I would have thought it was a fluke but not with both of them. While it was good while we had it, I'm disappointed it didn't last longer.
I bought this backpack for my son 3 yrs ago when he was starting nursery school and now he will be taking it to Kindergarten! It is the perfect size for a smaller child and after a year of nursery school and 2 years of preschool (he has a late birthday!) it still looks new! I am very impressed with the quality of this bag and never have had a problem with the zippers or fraying material like with other bags. I look forward to a few more years of use until he needs a larger one. I also bought one for my daughter - she was only one at the time! I had both monogrammed and couldn't be happier with the purchase.
My daughter has used this bag for preschool for 2 years, and it is still in excellent condition. I do have 1 recommendation for LLBean.. Please add mesh pockets to the sides of ALL of your backpacks.
I bought this bag for my 1 1/2 year old daughter. The woodland print fits her owl theme. I plan to use this bag for daycare and hopefully the start of school. The monogram of her name came out beautiful. I had an ll bean bag when I was in school. I am now a high school teacher. I am passing down this bag tradition to my daughter. It is a durable, sensible, well made bag. I recommend this bag to my students when they come to me for help with their ripped bag or zipper issues. ( I teach home ec)
