We purchased this backpack in the Woodland Critters design for our very petite 5yr. old who is off to kindergarten this Fall because she is in love with owls at the moment. The size is perfect for preschoolers & kindergarteners. I can fit her square fabric lunch box at the bottom, a small snack bag, her homework folder, and still have enough room for a light sweater / thin sweatshirt at the top. That still leaves the pouch in the front available if needed. Fortunatley, I will be keeping an extra set of snow gear in her cubby at school because with the lunch box I don't think there would be quite enough room for that. Fast shipping, great quality, colors and monogramming are beautiful, & when she needs a bigger backpack I can see her still using this one for sleepovers, car trips, gymnastics gear etc...
We purchased this backpack for our 6 yr old returning to school. When we received it, he tried it on and we realized right away that it would be too small. My son is an averaged size 6 yr old. Also the styling was very generic and the color that we ordered was lighter and brighter than I expected. This would make a great backpack to use as a diaper bag, or for a preschooler. We re-ordered the critter set to replace it and can't wait to get it!

My son has had this pack since he was 3, he is 8 now. For preschool, daycare, church. It has literally been carried 6-7 days a week for over 5 years. It still looks brand new. No tears, no frays. Zippers are still in excellent shape. Getting ready to buy the next size up since he's going to need extra space for more books, but this pack is still in great shape and will continue to be used for years to come!
I got these for my two oldest then my oldest is starting K. They have lasted 2 school years, trips and are still going strong. Just put them in the wash so the are ready for the next school year that starts tomorrow and they look new.
