I bought this in pink for my daughter as she was entering K. She is now going into 2nd grade and it is still in great condition. The size was perfect for her for these two years and she could use it this year as well, but we are buying a larger rolling pack to finish out elementary school. The quality is amazing and with a little scrubbing it will look brand new. I love LL Bean's quality and the fact that I didn't have to buy 2 packpacks just to make it through a school year. I bought this bag for my preschooler two years ago after my first grader's bag arrived and the younger dissolved in tears over not having his own.
The preschooler is now entering first grade my only concern is that I wish I'd purchased the full-size backpack because these things don't need to be replaced for YEARS! I expect it to last a few more and hope we don't run out of room.

My 5-year-old loves her junior backpack -- it's just her size, but can still fit a three-ring binder or folders plus snow pants for kindergarten. The deer/owl print is adorable and stands out from all the cartoon character backpacks --and this pack will outlast all of those bags, too.
I ordered this for my 3 year old daughter and it is excellent quality and a great size! I wanted something she would have for a few years and was worried this one would be too small by the time she enters kindergarten, but it's a great size and will definitely be used for many, many years!
