ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected, an ll bean classic!
I bought this backpack for my son to take to Jr Kindergarten. He was a little upset to arrive at school and see everyone had character backpacks. We bought Superhero Red (my name for it) and personalized it with iron-ons and patches I can remove when his younger sister is ready for Kindergarten. Our school does not allow the Kindergarten kids to carry backpacks with their name visible. My only complaint would be that I wish LL Bean would offer other ways to personalize the backpacks. I realize that I have bought a size too small. Once I put my son's size 5 snow pants, extra hat, extra mitts and snack bag the backpack is full leaving little room for artwork and such to come home. I'll have to purchase the next size up before next winter.
My mom bought this bag 4 years ago for my son. He is now in 1st grade, and the bag is still great! No seam ripping, holes, or broken zippers- I'm in awe!! He also has the matching small lunch bag, which has been washed multiple times a year, and still looks great. I'm on today to look for one for my daughter...and hope they'll still make them in another 3 years for my second dear daughter!
I bought this backpack for my 2.5 year old girl for preschool. I searched for a long time to find one that was the right size. After all the good reviews, I decided to buy it. The reviews weren't wrong. It is perfect. She loves it. It is big enough to hold a change of clothes, snowpants, mitts, ect but not too big that she can't wear it. We have only used it for 3 months but so far it has held up great. What a excellent product.
