This is a great bag. It looks exactly the same in person as the pictures. It is a little small for my daughter who started kindergarten. She has trouble fitting her L.L.Bean lunch box in the bag with her folder and library book. I will keep this one because I love it and will but her the Original for school.
I bought this for my son when he started maternalle he was nearly four years old, i got his name monogramed in it, this year he started first grade and is his 3rd year with it, i asked him if he would like to get a new backpack he said "No, this is my favorite back pack I have it since I was little".

I mistakenly wrote this review under the Original backpack instead of the Junior Original. I love this Junior Original backpack so much that I had to put it under the correct item! Here is my review:
I bought this backpack for my 2 year old to replace his diaper bag. He loves being able to carry it all by himself. It is holding up incredibly well--even when he drags it on the pavement occasionally! It is perfect for a change of clothes, diaper, book, and some matchbox cars! I like the reflective strips on it. I only wish it had a bottle holder on the side for his sippy cup or water bottle. Right now it is a tiny bit big for him, but I plan on him growing into it and using this for preschool and early elementary school. This was a great investment! I love it, and I know it will last!
My mother in law traditionally gave a monogramed LLBean backpack to every grandchild to start their first day of kindergarten. My daughter being one of the youngest grandchildren is now a Jr. in High School. Yesterday she came home and sadly said my backpack is broken. I got on line to look to see about replacing and had hers next to me to try to match. Turns out it jut zipped up wrong and now it is working perfectly. Thanks LLBean the gift that was given so long ago is a reminder of her grandmother and we didn't want to replace such a memory it goes everywhere with her. To school, to sleep overs, on trips. Thanks LLBean for making such a durable product that can be depended on to keep the precious things she needs with her safe and dry.
