Bought this pack for our daughter when she started preschool. She used it for three years, and now its her overnight bag when visiting friends and family! It honestly looks as good now as it did her first day of preschool. You simply can't go wrong with this backpack!
After several years of disappointment in department store book bags, I splurged last fall and bought a "junior original bookpack" for each of my daughters. They enjoyed choosing the color and monogram style, and liked the idea of being an original on the playground. The first grader's pack had zipper trouble once or twice, but I think that is a fluke because the 2nd grader never had issues. Both packs look brand new despite 9 months of abuse. They are large enough for homework and books and can even fit the lunch box and water bottle. I am dusting them off for another school year. Great purchase!!!
My son proudly carried this bag in light blue on his first day of kindergarden and he loves it! It is sturdy, easy to clean, and doesn't hurt his back. He'll have it for years. I don't even mind buying another for next year.
We purchased the junior original book pack for my son two years ago, when he was starting Pre-K. It has been used daily for two years, tossed around the playground, taken on field and camping trips, and just generally abused in the way only a 5-and 6-year-old boy can do. The bag still looks new. We've never had a problem with any of the zippers, no rips in the lining, nothing. We'll probably have to move up to the larger size in a year or so, but this size has been perfect for my smaller guy in Pre-K, K, and now 1st grade. I am now here to order another one for my second little guy. He's very excited to have a bag just like his big brother's.
