Perfect size for my 4yr. old.who is in K3. He shows it off to everyone. The size is great...it held all of his supplies for the year and had extra room for more. The reflective band is such a good idea.
My son has been using this backpack since kindergarten ... he is now going into fifth grade. The style is always current & the backpack is so durable - it still looks new after 5 years of bus rides & classroom cloakrooms! My friends all go out every year & spend tons of money on backpacks that only last half the year, while our LLBean pack is on year 6!! Buy one!!
Backpack is great, but be careful of the size, especially the depth. It is only 4.5 inches. My first graders lunch box and one slim folder from school barely fits. His bigger one last year also held a sweat shirt/jacket and many other items. I needed to return this and get the original. I would only purchase this size for the littlest ones.
We are going into our 3rd year with my daughters backpack. She used it for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and now 2nd. Its a great backpack. A little small now that she is older and carries more stuff....but we will simply purchase the larger version for her next year.
One repair we did have to make it to the top handle. It has almost come completely off....but I took it to a repair shop today and it is only $9 to fix...other than that....the backpack looks great. I throw it in the washing machine too...and it comes out looking great. I'm amazed that the zippers have lasted this long.
