I ordered this backpack for my son that is starting kindergarten. He loves it. It has plenty of compartments and enough room for a child his age. It arrived quickly also. I will continue buying his backpacks with LL Bean throughout his school years.
This backpack was an excellent purchase. It's main pocket easily held everything that my kindergartener needed for school and it managed to not get any holes in the bottom even though she constantly dragged it around. In contrast, my other kindergartener went through 3 non-LLBean backpacks last year. Unlike all the backpacks at the store, this one was also not too big for her shoulders and back. The top loop did rip but customer service said they would be happy to replace it. I highly recommend this pack and we will be using it again this school year.
These seem very sturdy, though aren't quite as deep as I would like. Both of my children are super-excited about these and especially my youngest. They are big enough to fit a standard folder, but nothing much bigger (height-wise) than that. My kids aren't that big, though so I wouldn't want them toting around a very heavy backpack, and this one has LOTS of padding, and great reflective material. My son was running around our house and the pack was just glowing from the reflective material, and it's a rainy day here!!! These are really nice and everyone says these will last the longest!
