I bought this backpack for my son three years ago and used it as a diaper bag. He is now starting pre-school and I am trying to decide whether to buy him a new one or just use this one. It is still in great shape. I now have an 8 month old son that I am going to buy another one for. Well worth the price. Bookbags in stores are about the same price and do not last near as long.
We bought this for my son when he started kindergarten. It was so cute with his name monogrammed on it. He is starting third grade this year and I am debating whether to buy him a new backpack. Honestly the only reason I might is because he is now eight and it seems like I should probably move up into the bigger packs. His original backpack still looks brand new and that is after three years of school and countless packing for trips and spending the night at grandmas. Great durable product and just the right size!
I bought the green flower version of this backpack for my daughter for kindergarten. it is the perfect size on a little girl, holds school folders and books and show-and-tell just fine, and hasn't fallen apart when she and her brother use it for less scholarly pursuits. It doesn't dwarf her and look crazy like some of those discount store bags do, and it costs almost the same. I plan to get one for my son next year when he starts school, and will likely have my daughter use hers throughout elementary school.
I bought this backpack three years ago for my daughter before she started Kindergarten. We are replacing it this year, with another LL Bean backpack, because she needs a bigger one for third grade. I just ordered one for my son who is entering elementary school in the fall. The smaller size is great for young children and it holds folders and a lunch box just fine. It was just as sturdy as all the other LLBean bags our family has purchased over the years.
