I bought this backpack for my son to start preschool with and he loves it and it is perfect for what we need. It has held up nice I had it monogrammed as the school wants everything with their name or initial on it. My 1st daughter will be going to preschool in September so I will be purchasing the pink one for her.
It's time for our annual trek to Grandma and Grandpa's. As we live in Florida, and my parents are now in British Columbia, we board three planes each way. My little one is now three, and definitely able to carry a few items on board herself. That's what this little backpack is for. It's tall enough inside to fit a coloring/activity book, and there are plenty of pockets for smaller items. I've already taken into consideration the "Mommy, I'm tired... carry this for me." scenario. I've slung this bag on my shoulder, and the padded straps are very comfortable. The only thing I would change is perhaps to add a luggage ID sort of pocket, as the sewn-in tag is a little flimsy and hard to write on. Keep in mind, this bag does not have the padding, bulk, and structure found in adult packs, like my Roots backpack. It is just a nylon bag. Other than that, excellent quality and construction, and it serves the purpose.
I love my son's new backpack. It is small enough for a two year old but big enough to carry all his comfort items just in case. I normally would not spend quite this much for one of his bags but I have had several bags that just haven't held up so I put in a little extra money to get a bag that will last.
I am satisfied with this book pack that I purchased for my little boy. The only thing I am concerned about is that the shoulder strap seems to be fraying. From past experience I know the LL Bean Will honor the merchandise and allow me to exchange it for a new one. I will always buy my child's book packs from LL Bean!
