I've bought several of these for grandchildren over the past few years and have been pleased with every one. This is a quality small bookbag that is offered in lots of colors and fun patterns, can be monogrammed, and looks like the bags that the bigger kids carry. This size is right for most kids through about first grade; second graders would probably need the next size up. It's hard to find a decent bookbag in this smaller size, but this is another great LLB product for younger students.
I ordered one for my 5 year old and one for my 7 year old. It will be okay for my 5 year old this year and maybe next, but it is not big enough for my 7 year old. This is best for a preschool-age child.
I ordered this for my (at the time) three year old son, and he has had it for well over a year now. It has held up amazingly well, going from grandma's to preschool and everywhere in between. He loves his 'big boy' backpack, and with the Jr. size, it fits him perfectly--not too big, not too small. I just ordered another one for my younger son who will be entering preschool this year. The size should be right well into grade school, and I'm not worried at all about the sturdiness of the bag...the one we have now has been through the wringer and if it hasn't been destroyed yet, then it can't be destroyed!
