We bought this backpack for for our daughter near the end of her kindergarten year. She's now 1/2 way into her 2nd grade year, and she's still using this back, which is in perfect condition. We've washed it a few times in the washing machine/dryer; cleans up great. Zippers have never failed; stitching on her name embroider is all intact. We love this backpack. It's the perfect size for grade-schoolers and is durable enough to last thru multiple years. One of our best purchases.
I love the backpack and the overall design, but I dislike the color of the monogramming. It is lavender and is not easy to read. White or black would certainly be a better choice for monogramming to POP out on this colorful backpack.
My kindergarten son was almost swallowed up and tipping over from his cheapie "Wall-E" bookbag. This size is great and though it's not huge, fits his kindergarten homework folder, change of clothes, matching lunchbox and plenty of room for other "things" he MUST bring to school to show his friends. Monogramming is adorable and digital camo is great-versatile and won't go out of style.
I ordered two of these bags - a royal blue one for my 5-year-old son and a pink one for my 2-year-old daughter. Both are monogrammed with their names. My children love them. It is the perfect size for my son (still a bit big for my daughter). I ordered the matching lunch bags - also a huge hit.
