I purchased two back packs for each of my boys when they were starting in Kindergarten. They are now in 2nd and 1st grade. We have one back pack that perfectly functions fine, but is getting on the small side, because of the amount of things that need to fit in it. The other one had zipper issues from the beginning and now it ripped and is not usable anymore. So I am looking for a bigger size with wheels. I do think the quality is great and it's a good buy for $19.99 and the customer service is great as well. I can purchase another back pack for my son that will be bigger and with wheels, and they will deduct the price I payed for this one. LL Bean stands for their products and I appreciate that very much.
This bag just doesn't quit! My oldest son has gone thru 3 backpacks in the last 6 years of school (not LLBean). My younger son has had this backpack for 4 years and it shows no sign of wear! The straps are usually the first place to go bad, but this one is still secure and the seams are still tight. It may not be fancy with all the extras like cell phone or ipod holder, but it holds all the things that my elementary student needs. I love this bag and wish I could convince my older son to use an LLBean bag...I'm sure he'd still be using it all the way thru college!
We are halfway through the school year and not a hole, not a snag, not a broken zipper. This bag is the best value for the quality. I have one rough little boy and his backpack has stood the test!
Fantastic Back Pack. I used it from 6th grade through 4 years of college, and it went on several trips to foreign lands. I never dreamt it would last that long but it did. Completely worth the investment. Never had any trouble with it!
