I purchased the Thinsulate boots in a size too large and had to send them back because I did not read the instruction that advised buyers to buy a size smaller than one's original size. After having to take them to a UPS store then pay to ship them back and wait for a new arrival only the rubbing on my leg that makes it impossible to not walk with out a limp is my only complaint.
These are some really good boots. For those worried about sizing... I wear a 9.5 in mens shoes comfortably and that is what I would order on most sites... and I hate tight shoes... so that said I went with a 9 hoping for a little room. They fit perfect... I wore them with "Puma" athletic socks and they fit with just a hair of room which means that if I wanted thicker socks they will be snug and warm. They look great... not bulky at all... which was a concern of mine. Also... I wore them all last night to a concert in downtown and the heel actually helped my posture and my back didn't hurt like it usually does. These are great for the city person as well as the farmer... I would definitely suggest that if you want a great pair of boots with waterproof and warmth... you give the BeanBoots a shot!
great boot! your advise to order one size down was right on. the boots fit perfectly. my only complaint: i can't slip the boots on standing up, but must sit down to put on. otherwise, excellent
I wanted them to fit snug as I have a friend that got a pair and they ended up being very big. For me, being in the city I didn't want a clunky boot. I'm a 10.5/11 foot size and I got the 9. With normal socks on they fit snug and hug my foot very comfortably. I can still wiggle my toes.
The footprint itsn't clunky like I wanted, so they ended up perfect. After a few days of walking with them on they broke in nicely. With thick socks they fit very snug/tight, but after moving around in them they adapt to the foot.
Would have liked the thinsulate lining to run up the leather of the boot, but am thinking when the spring rain hits I'll be happy it doesn't.
I also like that I can tuck my pants in the top of the boot as well as pull them over with no problem either way.
