Love at First Snow
PostedJanuary 13, 2012
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Is there anything these guys (LL Bean) don't do well? I don't think so and these boots are no exception.
Ordered down a size as recommended. Make sure you do that - they are still even a little big with normal socks, but with my heavy-weights they are a really nice fit.
Nailed by snow this week in Ohio and these boots are keeping me dry and warm. I was concerned about the 10" height being too tall, but they are not. I originally wanted the 8", but those were on backorder. I am glad I got the 10" height and would not want the shorter ones now that I've had these.
Now on to getting my wife a pair. Highly recommend these boots - Made in the USA, hassle-free returns if you need them... what's not to love?

Bean Boots insulated
PostedJanuary 11, 2012
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
Insulated means that the bottom where your foot rests and the sides of the rubber part are not bare. They are covered with "insulation". I've worn both insulated and uninsulated in temperatures below zero degrees. I prefer the insulated because I do wear them in cold weather. The ones with the liner are too hot and when you take the liner out...no insulation so then they're too cold.
I've worn these in both the 8" and the 10" for the past 40 years. I have the rubber bottoms replaced every 2-3 years when the heels get worn and they become slippery. The leather uppers last much longer. The ones I am replacing are 12 years old and when I had the bottoms replaced 3 years ago I was told that the leather was too worn to be used again. Several patches had to be used where the leather was too thin.
These are the BEST winter/spring boots on the market for comfort, durability and value.

I bought these boots for my husband as a Christmas present. He has had two other pair in the past and has really enjoyed wearing them for hunting.

Christmas surprise
PostedJanuary 4, 2012
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
My nephew wanted these for Christmas, and it was such a great surprise...Customer service was excellent in reassuring me about the sizing. I initially ordered the wrong color combination, but I was able to get them exchanged in time for the big morning! These boots are perfect for daily winter wear as well as sportsman activities...add the fact that they are crazy fashionable among teen and college students...winner all around
