I've got 4 pairs of L.L. Bean hunting boots from the 16" high that I've had over 30 years to pac's & uninsulated canvas. This pair is going to be my favorite.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
As always, LL Bean's short delivery time and outstanding quality makes you want to go back. These boots are sturdy, comfortable and well worth the price.
The leather gusset in the center, between the lace holes, was way too big. It doubled over and rubbed against my leg. On both boots, the double line of lace holes appeared to be slightly off-center, creating a cross-eyed effect. This was the second pair of these boots that LL Bean sent to me. The first had been obviously worn and scuffed. Not impressed with LL Bean thus far.
I have been wearing the LLBean boot for about 30 years-worn out about 7 pairs. The only complaint I have is the leather upper seems too large. I probably have skinny ankles, but the boots always have extra room there and can't be tightened as much as I would like. This affects ankle support. Other than that, I obviously like them.
