Durable and water-resistant, it fits a lap-top, lunch, a notebook or two, and more. This is my catch-all utility backpack for day-hikes, tourist travels, and casual Fridays.
I thought this backpack for my son five years ago when my son started preschool. Now his little brother uses it. I am finally getting a new one this year, b/c I went out and broguht a backpack some where else and it only lasted for 1/2 the school year!
We got tired of the colors of our old packs, though they are in great shape after years of use and abuse. I recycled them into our "72 hour emergency packs", one each for my hubby, me, our daughter, and Hubby's service dog. There is plenty of room in them for 3 days worth of food, a change of clothes, and an extra pair of shoes (and a toy for the pooch.) Each pack is easy to carry when we need to evacuate for weather or earthquakes or volcano action, and the handle at the top makes the dog's pack simple to carry.
Oh sure, we buckled to child pressure and tried the lesser quality store backpacks, but we always come running back to LLBean. These packs outlast the rest. My older kids (6y and 8y) still use the packs I got them in preschool (3y) here and there, and we got these packs as school packs because they're larger. And just the right size. The lime floral is absolutely adorable, and adored by my girly girl. These are winners all around.
