My mom bought me and my brother ll bean backpacks back in 1996 when we were in middle school. We still have our backpack today and there is not one hole or seam coming undone! He has bought his kids ll bean backpacks and I am looking today for my daughter! They are worth the money! After almost 20 years and we still use our backpacks!
My daughter is now ending 2nd grade and has used her backpack everyday for the last three years and it still looks perfect. I tell everyone to buy an LL Bean backpack because they last while the others fall apart. This is the only bag we will purchase for our children's school backpacks.
We bought this backpack for my son when he started Kindergarten. He is now finishing up second grade. He took it to school every day, and he even used it for swim practices and as a weekend bag. The backpack still looks great, wears well, the zipper has never gotten stuck, the material is "hole-free", and the straps are still cushiony. The red color is fabulous, and the monogram is still as sharp as the first day he wore it. I just talked with LL Bean, and they said the backpack you would order today is the exact same as the one I bought three years ago.
Purchased this bag this past summer for my son to go to kindergarden. A few weeks ago I noticed several holes in the bottom. The fabric seems to be very cheap and plastic like. Called customer service and they were very helpful and mailed me a new one. However he has been using the new for a few weeks now and tonight I noticed a hole in it. The only thing that he carries in this bag is a lunch box and 1 duo-tang so this should not be happening. My son loves the bag because his initials are on it but it is definitely not worth the money.
