I ordered this bag in the alligator design for my great-grandson for pre-school. I love it..... and so does he. He is only 3 so the size is perfect and he feels so important with his own backpack like the big kids. The quality is always superior at L L Bean and that is why I wasn't worried about ordering it and having it monogrammed. Thank you L L Bean offering a backpack for the "little" guys.
Growing up with LL Bean backpacks, I was excited for our son to start school so he could finally get a "real" backpack. My son's forest fern backpack just arrived and it is crazy bright! It didn't look quite as bold on the computer or in the catalog so we took a chance. He categorized it as a girl green- I don't know if that is completely accurate, but if you watch the durability video the green one shown there is pretty accurate to what the color is. Just be careful. Other than the bright color, the backpack didn't disappoint in quality. We are just going to exchange it for a different color.
I bought the Original Book Pack for my Son five yrs. ago. He was entering Kindergarden. The pack has held up great ,it has minimal wear on the corners but all is functional . The print is still sharp. Just ordered him a new pack to begin 5th grade. Thanks guys for ALL the great products! C Reed
Love LLBean backpacks and now my son has graduated from his Jr. Original to Original size. Green is his favorite color so we went with Forest Fern based on the name and color shown on both an iPhone and PC. When it came in I was shocked! It's NEON. To me it's ridiculous And looks nothing like it was displayed on my iphone or PC. Luckily my 6 year old doesn't care but I do hope this review prepares others who want to get a simple green backpack.
