I bought this pack for both my sons. My oldest son got his in first grade and the pack is still going strong as he enters 6th grade. It has also been used heavily on family trips. We got him the super deluxe book pack this year, not because this one wore out, but because he needed a roomier pack as he enters junior high. I highly recommend the Original Book Pack. It will last forever!
A couple months ago, I wrote a review complaining about this backpack because my middle school aged daughter only had it for about 1.5 years and it had tears in the bottom seams. I hadn't kept the receipt because I thought it would last. After I posted the review, LL Bean contacted me and told me they would replace the backpack. After purchasing six bookbags for my daughter for 1st grade, I decided it was time to upgrade the backpack. It's durable, comfortable and it looks brand new after a year of use!
I purchased the Original Book Pack for my daughter who is entering Pre-K. I was concerned that the bookbag was going to be too big because she's so petite but its the perfect size. She loves the light floral print and the quality seems to be durable. I am looking forward to see how many years I can get out of this bookbag. If I can get at least 3 years it will be well worth the money. Planning on purchasing another one for my oldest daughter. I wish they offered more discounts/coupons because they are a bit pricey.
