I love my son's LL Bean book bag. We purchased the Jr book bag for him for Pre-K. He is now in 3rd grade. This month the zippers came off the tread. I contacted LL Bean and the customer service was wonderful! The company replaced the bag and I purchased the upgrade to the original book bag. It came, and it looks great! Thanks!
Ordered the original printed backpack instead of the critter pack that my other son has because he wanted the red camo print. The zipper on the original is covered and I am fighting with it almost daily because he keeps getting the fabric zipper cover flap caught in the zipper. This is a fabulous product except for the zipper.
This bag looks great & my 2nd grader was so happy to have picked it all out himself -- monogram and all! Unfortunately this protective flap OVER the zipper keeps getting stuck IN it, and after many battles with the thing, I am afraid we are going to have to return it. So sad!

I bought this original L.L Bean backpack for my daughter entering the 5th grade. She absolutely loves it, plus the cute design of flowers! It's durable and definitely carrying everything she needs. I would just say use it for about grade 2-5, where the carryload isn't that bad. It's a good price as well. Adding side pockets would be a great idea though, so you can carry water bottles and other things. Overall, this product is great!
