ProsDurable, Great Value, Performing as Expected, lasts forever, amazingly cool
This is the year I purchased my royal blue and kelly green backpack...it went on it's latest trip to Washington D.C. this summer. Yes, I am still using it! The only flaw in it is the yellow reflective strip has started to break down. I used it for my senior year in high school and all through college, on my honeymoon, as an extra diaper bag for my two kids, and 25 years later...still hasn't worn out. I have purchased backpacks for my children from L.L.Bean because I knew the bags would be of such a high quality they too would last forever. My 16 year old son commented the other day that his backpack, (purchased when he was in Pre-K) was the most "amazingly cool" backpack he had ever seen. He uses it daily. Way to go L.L. Bean for creating a long lasting, amazingly cool bag that I will treasure for ever! By the way, I am thinking about ordering another one just to match my L.L. Bean rolling duffel!
I bought the original book pack for my grandson. I was very impressed with reviews. I have only one thing that I did not like about it. There is no water bottle pocket on the side. This is a negative feature for us, as he is required to carry a water bottle to school. I am now trying to find a way to add one. I assumed there was one because of the matching water bottles.

I bought this pack for my daughter who is in pre-school this year and love it. The size is perfect for her, although a little big (she is small). The pockets are a great size and will fit a lot of her markers, crayons, glue etc. The pack is small enough to fit her but also large enough to fit several full size folders and books plus extra clothes, shoes, and an umbrella. I love that the zippers are covered with the matching fabric and the flap is large enough to fold back so it doens't get in the way when zipping and unzipping. For this price and durability it's well worth the money, as I know we'll have this pack for several years to come.
