I bought this for my son last year for kindergarten. He's starting first grade now and he'll be using it again this year. The bag still looks brand new! My son is an average sized boy, and it was not too big, but we could still fit all of his stuff in it easily.
Love the look of the bag...perfect size for my 1st grader. The only thing I don't like is that there isn't a bottle holder on the outside of the bag (my child is required to bring a bottle of water to school everyday). Other than that, the bag is great - roomy, durable and fashionable.
Do not buy this backpack if your child needs to put anything in it! So small - The lunch bag and a couple book don't fit. The picture is misleading. It is also not the quality I expected from LLBean. I love LLBean and will continue to shop them but really disappointed.
I ordered this for my 6 year old son. He tends to be very hard on backpacks and this one has been fantastic. No matter how much it gets thrown around, it still looks new! It is the perfect size for him...not too big, but still has some room for him to grow as his homework load grows through elementary school. Love the red camo and the monogram is very nicely done. Another fantastic item from LL Bean...no surprise here!
