This is hands-down the best backpack my son has ever had/owned. It fits him perfectly and the personalization added a very nice touch. My son is on the smaller side and it fits him perfectly. He loved the reflective stripes on the straps and front pocket. He is ready for school to start so he can use it! Can't say enough about this backpack! Thanks LLBean for making such well made quality products! We will definitely be buying more products from LLBean. The quality, price, durablility and value far outpace many other well known companies!
Prosisn't always true to colors shown on the website
I ordered two of these backpacks, one for each of my sons, ages 7 and 9. When the backpacks came my youngest, who ordered the royal blue one, was very excited. My 9 year old was NOT happy with the color of his backpack. We ordered red and it looked pink! We returned it and ended up ordering a Navy Deluxe Backpack. I love the bag but wish there were more color options and that the red was actually red and not pink.
I bought one for my oldest son 2 years ago and it is still working great. We had an issue with it and without any hassle a new one was sent to us. Since then, no more problems. Just purchased another for my second son and one for a friend as a gift because we are so happy with it. Fits all the stuff they lug back and forth to school. Reflector strip is perfect for the dark mornings walking to the bus stop.
We can say this is a very well made backpack, with the missing advantage of an exterior water bottle pouch. She has been using it since January, '10 and it has certainly held up extremely well (for a second grader). We did not notice the lacking pouch for her water bottle until we began using it. Just one slight disadvantage I thought you'dlike to know about...
