George on his last day of Kindergarten, L.L. Bean Original Book Pack in place.
I don't like to review things until I've used them for a while, and it's been over a year since I purchased this book pack.
I bought this book pack last summer for my son to use during Kindergarten, and it was used daily for school & the library, as well as daytrips to the Zoo, Science Center and Children's Museum, and has taken it on every car trip to store his DVD player, books and toys.
The size of this book pack makes it perfect for carrying snacks, water bottles, wipes, crayons and the other various items needed to keep three children under 6 occupied at t-ball, so I will be commandeering it this summer.
I hate purses and diaper bags, and I often need my hands free to deal with the children. This book pack has withstood serious wear and tear over the past year with only minimal damage; a penny-sized area of the reflective strip on the back of the bag was scratched off.
When my four-year-old son and two-year-old daughter hit Kindergarten age, we will be purchasing these book packs for each of them. I'm willing to bet that these will be the only book packs we purchase for the entirety of elementary school.
I bought this backpack for myself over 20 years ago as a freshman in high school. It has survived high school, college, graduate school, plane rides, kids and day trips. Although it still is in good shape, I am buying a new one in a different color. This is well worth it's inexpensive price and will last a very long time. It is typical LLBean quality!! It's the best backpack you will ever buy.
I bought the blue flowered bag for my now Four year old to take to preschool. The bus aide is rough on the bag so I would have replaced her bag about ten times by now if not the LLbean bag. It is awesome. She takes it to Grandmas and play dates too. I also had her name written on it. Over all extremely happy with the bag now is my turn for one...lol
My son got this back pack when he started first grade. He will entering the 6th grade this fall and still uses it. It's in great condition. My daughter will be going in to first grade this fall and she will be getting her first LL Bean back pack. :)
