I ordered this backpack for my son and daughter who are in elementary school. They are great with the exception that there is no mesh sleeve on the outside for a water bottle. My kids take a water bottle to school every day so this is a must have for us on any backpack. My fault that I overlooked this when I ordered and I'll be sending them back, but if this is something you need, be aware of this. We are upgrading my sons to the Plus version. Not sure yet what I'll do for my 1st grade daughter as I think the Plus will be too big. Hopefully L.L. Bean will consider adding this for next year for this size. I thought I was all set for the school year and now I am having a hard time finding something my daughter likes...
Bought this backpack for my daughter for her first year in kindergarten. Its holding up like a champ! We love it and she can grow in to it and it will last. We have bought l.l. bean products in the past and have never been disappointed. Strongly recommend this bag to anyone looking for something dependable. It was shipped to us quickly and very well packaged. The downside for me is the initials are stitched in purple which at first glance it sort of blends in with the rest of the back pack if you're getting the blue/purple flower patch print. Best buy so far for me! I love L.L. Bean!
My 9 year old got his at age 3. He is still using it. It's dirty and old and he loves it for going to camp. I tried to get rid of it, and he freaked out. I am about to buy one for my daughter now! Good stuff!
