Thanks for the wonderful job ya'll did on my middle son's backpack. I like the fact that I was able to have it monogrammed with his intitials. Having three boys and all of them attending school the monogramming makes my life a little easier. In the mornings, we can now tell which bag is theirs so no more mix-ups.
Years ago in High School, my best friend handed down her LL Bean Original Backback to me after she received a new one. It had been used a few years already when I received it, although it looked new. I used it everyday to carry all my books (our lockers were very small and you couldn't get to them and to next class without being tardy)throughout HS. I then used it for all 5 years of college. After college I was a nanny and used to for a diaper bag/carry all. The zipper gave way one ski trip but I made due for another couple years. I believe in all it was used for well over 15 years. I would probably still be using it if the zipper hadn't broke. Best money (my friend's mom) ever spent! My daughter is starting 1st grade and is getting her first LL bean original backpack! I expect it to be the last one I buy for her.
These backpacks really hold up. Before I bought LLBean the inexpensive backpacks were my choice, but after the first one I was hooked! I bought this original pack 2 years ago. It was carried all through my child's 4th grade year and part of 5th grade. Now at the beginning of 6th grade I have found a small hole forming in the bottom of the bag. This bag, by far, has held up longer than any other bag.
