my 6 year old has used this backpack for 2 years. itis good, except the zipper. the zipper gets caught on the fabric that covers the zipper. i can't get the zipper off the fabric, so i am going to return the backpack. ;(
I originally purchased the Deluxe Book Pack, and it was too big for my small frame - from behind you couldn't even see me! :) So after a year of use, I returned the Deluxe, and switched to the "Original Book Pack" ((L.L. Bean COMPLETELY refunded me for the difference in the price of the 2 packs! Even after it was already used - AMAZING!)) Anyway, the Original pack is perfect for me. I've had mine for almost 10 years now, and it is just starting to show wear - even after suffering through a 7 month trip around South America! I cannot say enough about this pack - if you have young kids that tend to beat up their bookbags, I would HIGHLY recommend this bag! It will last through just about everything!
This is the best book pack I have ever purchased...my grandson went through 4 book packs during 1st grade. I purchased this book pack the beginning of 2nd grade it is now the end of his 3rd grade and it is going strong. Will probably last until middle school...a must have for boys. Oh I also purchased one for my other grandson, he's had his for 2 years. I told my sister in Iowa and she purchased 2 for both her grandkids this past year.
