I ordered this backpack for me to use as an adult. I sometimes carry around a lot of miscellaneous items (magazines, books, purse, etc.) I find it easier to carry everything in the backpack instead of a purse and all separate items. When I go on hikes, I can carry many items in it without weighing me down. It is lightweight, and holds a lot. I think the material would also hold up good if it was raining hard. There are many compartments, and inside a place to put pencils/pens, and organizer inside, and outside pocket too with zipper. I am very happy with this backpack, it's simple, and made of a very sturdy material. I had my name monogrammed on it, and it really gave it a nice personal touch. I can see this lasting for many years. Order this and you'll see why I am thrilled with it.
I was not pleased with the performance of this backpack. The zippers kept sticking and catching the fabric, and one finally had a blowout. The pack itself was a little too lightweight and just did not hold up well enough for my son's 4th grade school year.
We bought the regular youth backpack for kindergarten, when his backpack sporting an animated character was unbalanced and uncomfortable to wear. Whereas the Original book pack sat just right between his shoulders and comfortably along his back. We never looked back - this is his everyday, everywhere bag. He loved the 3 letter monogram, identifying his bag without enabling strangers to call him by name. Well, he's still carrying that backpack into second grade, when his classmates have declared themselves too sophisticated for character themed bags! The critter track print still looks great, the bottom hasn't given out, and the Junior Original back pack in the same pattern is what the preschooler in the family wears to the bus stop to see his big brother off. We love these bags!
I love this back pack. What a money saver. My 2 older girls have had theirs for 7 years. They both have the alhoha prints in different colors. My oldest daughter is not gental on anything she owns. She has carried about 15-20 lbs on the bus for 3 hours a day transfurring twice. It has gone to sports, piano practice, sleep overs and the pack is still going. She will be replacing her back pack this year as she is in highschool and would like a different color. My middle daughter's back pack looks brand new.
