Durable, easy to zip, great colors, lots of room, fantastic organizational features. All four of our kids have one. Teachers love the monogrammed initials and matching lunch boxes. There's never a question about what child the backpack and lunch box belong to!
This is a remarkable backpack. My son has had his since his was 2 (his older sisters were starting kindergarten and he wanted a "big kid" backpack, too). Over the past 12 years, this backpack has survived daily trips to and from daycare, summer camps, and school, with a kid who is not at all gentle with his clothing or belongings, and it is still in great shape. It has minimal signs of wear around the bottom corners, but is otherwise like new. His sisters have changed backpacks a number of times over the years, never because their backpacks wore out, but because they worried about having the "right color" for that school year. My son is starting 9th grade this year, and until last week he had said he didn't need a new backpack "because this one is still fine, and it's a tradition". However, last week, after much internal debate, he decided that he needed a new one (mostly a different color) for starting high school, and choose a black one. He insisted that we save the red one "for when I have kids, they can use it, too", and we will. This backpack is typical of the many products we have purchased from you over the years. Thank you for maintaining such high standards for quality (and excellent, very helpful customer service)!
I have an original book pack that my mom bought around 1985 when I was in high school in classic navy blue. LLBean added the 3M Scotchlite strip the following year and added some cool new colors, including teal (gotta love the 80's!) I used my book pack through high school and college and would have used it for grad school, except I was working full time and had a briefcase. I'm sure it still has years of wear left, but I'm not sure where it is in my mom's house. Now that my kids are school age, they have them and other moms always ask about them. It's such a durable book pack and can withstand rain, snow, and anything else my kids can get into. It's a great product and a great value and I recommend it again and again to people.
My first purchase for a back pack was for our daughter when she went to pre-K. She used it for three years. Now she is in 2nd grade and we purchased a new one for her this year.
These pack packs are great! They have strong material to them. They are durable, and I know they last a long time. We still use the old back pack.
I love the bright colored flowers on the design we bought. I would recommend any back pack to anyone out there that has kids because of how the pack is made! There is also so much room in the pack as well. Great Purchase!
