I recently purchased the L.L. Bean Original Book Pack for my daughter who is entering kindergarten. She is about average in size for her age, tending to run on the slender side. I could not decide whether to purchase the Junior size or the Original. Finally, I decided upon the Original and am very pleased with my choice. It is definitely not to big and easily holds anything she needs to take.

I bought this backpack for both my boys this year. One is in pre-K the other is in 1st. It's the perfect size for folders, 1 or 2 books, extra shoes, and even snowpants (if need be). They are super well-made and the zippers look rugged. The digital camouflage designs THRILLED the boys.
