Bought this to replace a lesser-quality brand backpack for my kindergartener in the middle of her spring semester. Here we are at the start of a new school year, and it looks like we just bought it yesterday!
I bought my son one of these before he started 4th grade. It has occasionally been STUFFED full, but generally holds everything he needs for homework without being stuffed. Never thought to try putting a lunch bag inside, though. Bag has very minimum wear on the bottom, and he's now going to use it for 6th grade (we're all short, so I purposely purchased a backpack rated for 7+). After that, I figure he'll need a larger one, and we can hand it down to a sibling. It has been worn on both shoulders, worn (mostly) on one shoulder, carried by the "loop" strap on top, and all the webbing has held up beautifully. You can tell it isn't new, but that's about it (he *is* fairly good about caring for his stuff as boys go).
I bought this backpack last year for my six year old son. Now seven and entering first grade, it's still in great shape and ready for another year. It is the perfect size for his frame and the amount of work he'll bring to and from school at this point, assuming it can accomodate a lunch box. I was concerned about getting a backback that would be too big (like those I see most kids carrying), and this is great. Of all the backpacks I saw on kids last year, I didn't see any I liked better than this, and again, most were just way too big!
My kids are going into school and I needed to buy backpacks. I read the reviews of this backpack and thought I would give it a shot. The boys love how they look and that their names were put on them and the quality of the materials can't be beat. Shipping was fast. I would definitely order again but judging from the other reviews I won't have to!
