I am petite and have a small face but this "hat" is just fine as I have dark thick curly hair. I began with the natural colour then moved to coral rose and `am thinking about the blue as that would appear to be cool looking, from my point of view! The brim can be a bit floppy but I have trained it to do as I like..The tie under the chin is great and gives a good look..rather jaunty I`d say! All in all the sun coverage is most adequate and the look is smart and sassy if you like,even rather glamor- like if one plays with the brim a bit.. I would say that L.L.Bean did a fine job in designing this functional and trendy sun hat.Bravo L.L.Bean...this hat fits the bill...
I wasn't pleased with the quality. The color was uneven, the straw immediately frayed, giving the hat a ragged look. For the price, I thought the hat was badly done and I was disappointed.
I usually hate wearing hats. It feels funny, tight and uncomfortable. But this hat has it all under control! I can see why some people say it's way too big for them: I have great difficulty finding a hat that would even fit period, and this hat fits my big head to a T. It's really soft and you can bend the edge which ever way you want it. It also has a nice terry cloth band inside so your skin isn't against the raffia therefore not feeling terribly hot like other hats would. Gardening is my new passion but the sun can be brutal. It won't be so bad with this hat. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is that the cord and its tie are pretty flimsy. It doesn't stay tightened. Luckily I doubt I'll be using it. I got the natural color and I love the hat so much, I'm thinking of getting the pink one!
This is the best hat that I have ever owned! It fits my large head perfectly. I love the blue color. The hat bounced right back into perfect shape after my dog sat on it! I love this hat.
