I have been on the search for a straw hat for the beach. This is perfect. It fits me and looks great. I am one of those people who cannot wear a hat and actually look good in this one. It looks great! I also have a head shape that calls for a large hat. Again, this is a perfect fit. You can wear it several ways too, up or down for more coverage. Cowboy style too! I'm tempted to buy another, just because it works so well for me.
I live in South Florida and the summer sun and heat can be brutal. I have been searching high and low for a straw hat...and I have found it all with LLBean's straw hat. The terry cloth sweatband feels good close to my skin, the hat is a tiny bit roomy - good for me because I have thick hair and I hate having a tight hat on my head. The drawstring works ok and I am loving that the hat is crushable and packable so I can take it in my suitcase on trips. I didn't give it 5 stars because when the brim is folded up, it looks a little nerdy, so I just turn the brim down and wear it with my big sunglasses people think I am a celeb in hiding! I am pleased. I got the natural color.
Love this hat! The brim is wide enough to protect my face, but not too big, fits great over my fluffy hair. The string keeps it from blowing away on windy days. Well made, light weight and flexible. It seemed rather expensive, more than I wanted to spend, but took a chance, and I will keep it.
I have been trying on straw hats in all kinds of stores and they all looked terrible, didn't fit right, poor quality. I ordered this one on line and it was just as I had hoped - great quality & perfect fit! It has a "just right" sized brim for keeping the sun off without being too large. It has a great shape and is really comfortable.
