We purchased three of these henleys in 3 different colors. When they arrived my husband tried one of them on to ensure they fit and then I washed all three. If you stack them one atop another you will find that all three have a different length, different sleeve length and a different width. The fabric is excellent but now all three have shrunk differently too. We kept them because they are very warm and comfortable. I would recommend them to a friend but only if they buy just one. (I'm assuming that the cutting, sewing and weaving of the fabric occurred in different factories causing this.)
I'm 6', 180. Normally wear size L In LLBean knit shirts. Ordered an XL to allow for shrinkage. After only 1 washing, the sleeves are about 2 inches above my wrists and the body length is also too short. Not wearable. Unworn shirt going into charity donations bag.
As others have mentioned,what used to be a great product does not seem the same. The large that I ordered was huge- very wide. The fabric was thin and the overall look of the shirt was not attractive. I returned the shirt and took it off the Christmas list for my son.
I ordered this Henley in royal red... The colour shown via the website photos appeared to be a Brick red yet when I received it .. I was shocked to see it was a horrid fire engine red. When I called customer service she was helpful by explaining that any colour that is named with the word ROYAL anything.. It will be vibrant like the British Crown Jewels... She did agree that the red shown in photos was muted out... And we arranged to make an exchange. I chose the coffee brown which was lovely tone of brown. And FYI to fellow Canadians... To return something from Canada..would normally require me (the buyer ) to pay for shipping.. But this llbean rep promptly offered to email me a shipping label at no cost to me... And she ordered the coffee brown BEFORE they received the royal red.!! I was not charged on my credit card either... Pending I return the red... I was very satisfied .. No hassles .... Awesome service! I will definitely buy online again. PS the rep also stated that since the Henley is a gift.. If my boyfriend doesn't like the brown or if he wants to exchange for something completely different.. Llbean will send another shipping label and we can repeat the same process no problem....
