This mini-waffle henley is thicker than a long-sleeved shirt, but thinner than a full-fledged sweater. It is perfect for me - I own four of them - because the office where I work is too warm in the winter for a sweater. This henley is a nice compromise. It's warm, but not too warm. The weave quality is excellent, it doesn't look like cheap thermal underwear (a problem with some mini-waffle weaves).
