Although I generally wear extra large shirts and sweatshirts, this sweatshirt had way too much material too be comfortable. Any size smaller would have made the sleeves and length too short. It's so bulky that I would never be comfortable wearing it under a jacket or coat. I am very disappointed and give it a "thumbs down!"
Well, back last year Bean had a "heavyweight" sweatshirt available for about $ 10 more that advertised as "heavy". I sell snow/lawn equipment in Northeastern Wisconsin as well as have to be out in the stuff when it gets "gnarly". I didn't buy it at the time and wished I had. So, I tried this years version. Have to admit the quality IS good. In fact, very good. Though I am left wondering IF it's as "heavy" as last years version. I'll never know I guess. But, bottom line ....... it IS warm, and, very WELL made !!!!!!
I purchased two (Navy & Grey Heather) two years ago. Absolutely outstanding, right fit, satisfactorily weight/heft etc. These new ones (red and Lt. blue) were not the same as earlier. Thickness has changed, fit different and shrinkage after first wash much different. (The red one shed an extreme amount of material in both wash & dry cycle...be careful what it is washed with.) Maybe a new supplier has come on board or some changes have happened with the past two years, but I was disappointed with the changes, when comparing to earlier purchase.
