I had purchased the LL Bean Katahdin Crew Neck Sweatshirts for years because they wore like iron, fit well and didn't shrink when washed & dried. Unfortunately, they stopped making & selling these sweatshirts a while back so I stopped buying sweatshirts from LL Bean a couple of years ago. After recently asking a sales person online if they would be bringing back the Katahdin crew neck sweatshirts, she told me they wouldn't be, but I should try these - that they were quite similar to what I had been used to purchasing... I decided I'd buy one to give it a test and I'm 100% sold on them! She couldn't have been more correct - they don't shrink when washed & dried, they're heavy and they fit great (they're long enough). My thanks to the sales person for suggesting them. Since I wear sweatshirts almost daily 8-10 months a year at work - I want something that lasts, that fits properly and looks good and these definitely fit the bill. Special thanks to the sales person for suggesting I try these sweatshirts and thanks to LL Bean for producing them - they're absolutely awesome!!!
This is actually a gift for Christmas, but upon inspection the quality and softness are excellent. As far as sizing goes, will not know until the person tries it on.
