first, the material is too smooth and thin, and the dye is not deep enough in the dark colors. but the major problem with these mock turtles is that the neck is too tall. if you want a tall neck buy a full turtle, but please lower the height on the mock.
My husband wanted mock-turtleneck shirts to keep his leather vest and leather jacket from rubbing his neck. I couldn't find them anywhere locally, and when I started looking on-line, they were not very readily available and not but a couple dollars less expensive than here. So I went with past experience of L.L. Bean quality and got these. The sleeves are long enough for my husband (and he has quite long arms for his shorter stature), they are comfortable to him, and they look great. (He hasn't had them long enough to comment on durability, but I'm sure they will last.)
I purchased two MEN'S mock turtlenecks for me because the men's version is long enough for me to tuck in - and it stays tucked in. Every women's mock-t is too short in the torso for me; comes out far too quickly and doesn't tuck neatly - but the men's mock-ts are just fine. Keep up the good work, LL Bean - thanks!
This an awesome shirt for the price. It's great for both dress and casual wear. It is soft and silky with the feel of clothing that is twice the price!
