Wish I had read the reviews before the purchase. I'm not sure why Bean has created a mock turtleneck that does not have a tight seam at the neck and wrists. I wear these during winter with a sweater or fleece and expect the neck and wrists to provide a good seal to keep out the cold. The neck on the one I purchased is really baggy. The shirt should be made out of a heavier winter weight cotton, not a summer weight. I got the tall to control for shrinkage. The cut is generous and the shirt well constructed. The color is true.
Although I bought the tall size, after one washing, the sleeves shrunk so that they're now an inch and a half too short. I hope they don't shrink much more! They should make the sleeves longer to allow for shrinkage. They'd be too long initally, but after a couple of washings they'd be fine. Otherwise, it's a nice shirt. The neck is the right size for me.
I have purchased several of these over the years. As other reviewers have said, the collars are too loose. They look sloppy. These shirts also shrink a LOT ! Especially in the sleeves. Mr. Bean, you can do a lot better than this !
While the fabric is nice and soft this mock has a very ill fitting, loose hanging neck that will absolutely not compliment your looks when worn under a sweater or a jacket! Purchased 2 in store and they are not worn even once despite the fact that I needed them in a chilly city overseas.
