I bought this last year and liked them so bought some more this year and like them more. Compared to last year, what I just received is a little bit longer and the neck a little bit higher. I washed them twice so far so I think its a good comparison. That was my only complaint last year. Having said that I still would prefer they make the length a little longer. I prefer these more than other t-shirts because they are thicker and warmer which is why I buy them.
If you really need a tall size, do not buy this product.
I bought two mock turtlenecks in large tall. Despite charging extra for "tall", these were less than generous in body and sleeve length. When they were washed, they shrunk over 1.5 inches in body and sleeve length. They now feel like I am wearing my little brother's clothes.
If I had bought these from a no-name or discount seller, I would not be surprised by the sizing and shrinkage but I expect more from LL Bean and for the price charged.
I would swim in an extra large tall. I need the length not the width. Next time I will avoid Bean and look for a seller that use better quality cotton and is more reasonable in what they term a "tall."
Nice shirts. They wear well but shrink a bit after multiple washings and drying in dryer. The royal red color looks very different than shown on website - it's much brighter red, too red for me. Colors for these shirts are limited. Please bring back the dark red and greenish blue colors.
I have several of these shirts. My body size is normal. When new they are good. When washed they shrink. This is very annoying. I like the mock turtle neck but it has to fit properly. After washing I will stand on the shirt and pull on it to stretch it. This works to some degree. Why cannot LL Bean request that their supplier make appropriate changes to this shirt. I read in the reviews that I am not alone by a long shot. LL Bean should reassure their customers that a solution is in the works. What is the point of selling a product that falls short (pun intended) in performance.
