My latest mock turtleneck arrived promptly. I opened the package and tried it on. Good fit, I am size XL and the neck felt just right snug but not tight. The color was just as I expected it to be.
I have a number of L L Bean turtle necks and moc turtlenecks. I noted some time back they stopped coming with a tag sewn in at the back of the neck. The later moc turtlenecks have the tag information printed onto the material. Initially I thought that would indicate a decrease in quality. However I am happy to report that the newer moc turtlenecks are if anything better. And they last pretty well. The neck does get a little loose and floppy when the moc turtleneck gets old but still they are wearable and serviceable.
My husband is not a turtle-neck shirt kind of guy, but this mock turtle-neck is perfect: not to tight around the neck and comfortable under sweaters. It holds up after multiple washings and looks nice. He's got several in multiple colors and loves the shirt!
