I like this shirt, but only could purchase one. I am a LARGE TALL, but the only shirt available was an EXTRA LARGE TALL , which I bought. Washed in hot water and put through the dryer, it shrank to my size (though we had to tighten the color for my 15.5" neck). All in all a success, one small step in replacing my worn-out striped turtlenecks. More striped turtlenecks please, and in more colors. Also, full turtlenecks please.
I ordered three of these mock-turtleneck shirts recently, all of them with monogramming. When I received them, I noticed that the material used for the monogramming was very thick, but the flyer said that the material was going to dissolve when the shirts were washed. I have washed them several times and the material continues to be stiff and kind of uncomfortable in the neck. In other words, I love the cotton used for the shirt and the look but if I were to order again, I would skip the monogramming.
I purchased the Pre-2007 version of Beans's Mock Turtlenecks in bulk for family, friends and customers. It is superior to this version in several ways 1) it still is a highly versatile garment for all seasons 2) the shorter neck height was the perfect length 3) it still fits like a top shelf garment and has been wash and wear for years without shrinkage or wrinkles.
This new version has too many strikes against it on reviews and the neck height is too high for comfort.
Wow - huge drop in quality since I bought a few of these 2-3 years back...a lot of shrinkage after the first wash, proportions of the large-tall just not right. Cotton much thinner, too. I'm an LL fan, but no more of these- sending all 3 back...disappointed.
