I have been buying LL Bean moccasin slippers for the last 15 years and they have been great, particularly when they added the outside usable soles. I ordered a pair recently but to my horror before the weekend was out they had ripped on the top by the stiching. No problem - returned them to LL Bean and had a replacement pair by the next weekend - great service!
I tried to give these slippers to my elderly Dad for Christmas, but after having to return 2 pairs, I think I'll look elsewhere. Since L.L. Bean has always had such reliable and high quality products, I was surprised to have to return both pairs. The first pair smelled so strongly of must and mold, it was overwhelming even after airing them out for 2 weeks. The second pair came, and the fit was like we had 2 right shoes --- very disappointing!
This are really good ! I like the rubber sole for running out to feed the birds or get my newspaper. My last pair lasted so long , I forgot when I bought them. A seam finally split so I had to say goodbye. :(
I was looking for a "slipper" that was very comfortable and yet sturdy enough to wear outdoors around the house. This is exactly what I wanted and it is even more comfortable than I anticipated.
